Made for sending that next gap and confidently checking out the pro line the Ibis Ripmo GX Eagle Air Mountain Bike continues to bring it even in the hairiest of riding situations. This big hitter of a bike comes in an economical aluminum frame that looks good and rides even harder. The bike is equipped with all the best details the carbon version enjoys, but without the price tag that comes with it. DW-link suspension is there to provide a stiff pedaling platform as well as give supple suspension performance when the going gets choppy. The Ripmo AF is a race-ready bike that’s built to perform on any type of trail, wherever the dirt ribbons lead.

Made to send steep terrain while still being a pedal-able machine for the day to day Ibis employs a number of progressive numbers on the Ripmo AF. Though we normally wouldn’t praise a 150mm travel enduro bike for its pedaling performance, Ibis knows that getting up the hill is a big part of enduro racing too. This bike gets a slacked-out 64.9-degree seat-tube angle, speedy 29in wheels, and an appropriately long 1237mm wheelbase in a size large. All those numbers mean is that this bike can absolutely charge through the roughest terrain. Big drops are reduced to mere rolls while rocks gardens feel more like gravel terrain. Made for the enduro scene, thanks to a pedal-friendly 76-degree seat-tube angle this bike is one that we can earn our turns on while still saving energy for the descent.

Kit on the Ripmo AF comes in with the ever-reliable and tough SRAM GX and DVO suspension package. SRAM’s GX build is made with metal components, ditching the plastic found on lower-end groupsets to make for a tougher and enduro-ready build. DVO suspension might be one we weren’t as familiar with before, but thanks to a few laps on this beast we’ve found the tunability and quality to be second to none. DVO builds near oversized componentry to handle the roughest of riding day after day along with a multitude of adjustment options for our preferred riding style. Rolling on big rubber is the name of the game with the Ripmo AF, as Ibis outfits the bike with wide 35mm internal rims and hyper-aggressive Maxxis Assegai rubber to keep us rolling rubber-side-down.

Whether it’s between the tape, up a mountain, or getting down with some shuttle laps the Ripmo AF is there to handle it all. This bike is one of the smartest and most packed specs we’ve ever seen come through and shows that it’s built to rail. Ibis hits it right on the head with the impressively wide wheels and alloy frame built to take a beating. Though some say the raw alloy frame might just be to save a few bucks, we think it looks so good that the savings passed on are all the more appreciated. Ibis came to play with the Ripmo AF, and play it does by dismantling competition in enduro races or gliding through technical terrain.
