Why We Like The SB140 Carbon C2 XX1 Eagle AXS Factory Mountain Bike
Coming in with best-in-class wireless shifting and a Fox factory upgrade the Yeti SB140 Carbon C2 XX1 Eagle AXS Factory Mountain Bike leaves nothing to be desired. This 27.5in rocket ship has us seeking out all the local jump lines and fun-filled trails in our backyards. The carbon frame layup is hooked up to Yeti’s infinity link which offers supreme pedaling performance and a bottomless feel on the descents. 140mm of rear travel helps soak up the huck-to-flats we love and the hard-charging we do in our backyard mountains. Yeti designed the SB140 to go fast where it counts and keep it light-hearted when the trail gets a bit scary.
Designed from the ground up for trails that favor the descents over the climbs this version of the SB140 receives modern lower, slacker, longer geo found everywhere these days. The 140mm of rear suspension happily gets us through an enduro stage race on Saturday and a long ride with our friends on a Sunday morning. We use the slacked out 65.4-degree head-tube angle to get over obstacles while the 27.5in wheels have us playfully getting through chunder and obstacle-filled trail. The wheelbase on the SB140 is categorically long for a 140mm trail/enduro bike, with a medium getting 1203mm of high-speed stability-inducing ride characteristics.
Equipped out of the box with a dropper, wide bars, and 4-piston hydraulic brakes the Yeti SB140 means business. We’re not finding ourselves needing to change a thing about the ride, just our riding style to take full advantage of the geometry and playful 27.5in wheels. Maxxis rubber takes on rolling duties with a hyper-aggressive DHR in the front and fast-rolling Rekon in the rear. Both tires come tubeless right out of the box which means we don’t be needing to fuss with tubeless sealant and compressors before our very first ride. The SB140 is a fun-loving machine that knows how to get down the mountain when the time counts.
Due to unprecedented demand in the global supply chain and the bike industry over the last 18 months, material weight and exact components are subject to change. We are working diligently to keep tech specs updated, and any adjustments will be minor. If you have any questions, reach out to a Gearhead by chatting online or calling 1-888-276-7130.
