Why We Like The SB150 Turq T1 XT Mountain Bike
We have a tendency to seek out the roughest and rowdiest trails on this side of the pond with our Yeti SB150 Turq T1 XT Mountain Bike. This race-bred machine’s sole purpose is to get us down the mountain as fast as possible, having proven itself a winner at the highest levels of enduro racing. The SB150 comes equipped with big 29in wheels, 150mm of rear suspension, and enduro-rated 4-caliper brakes for the hairiest lines on the mountain. Built with Switch Infinity linkage this bike responds to big hit lines by delivering near-endless suspension travel.
When it comes to quickly getting down the mountain the Yeti SB150 shows it’s firmly at the top of the range. This 29in wheeled machine combines slacked out angles and a long wheelbase to effortless roll over big obstacles and keep the speed high. Made for charging the SB150 gets a 64.5-degree head-tube angle that’s nicely paired with 29in hoops hooked up to aggressive Maxxis rubber. The wheelbase is a categorically long 1248mm on a size large, giving impressions that a dual crown fork belongs on the rig. Yeti knows we like to go up the mountain too, though, so the Switch Infinity linkage and steep 76.9-degree seat-tube angle pair up well to get us up the hills.
With all this enduro talk it’s important to know that the Yeti SB150 comes with a crop of enduro-rated parts and components. This bike gets the full Shimano and Fox treatment for a race day rig that’s ready to go between the tape on the weekends and up the lift on the weekdays. A full Shimano XT 12-speed drivetrain is equipped and includes Shimano’s hyperglide technology, this creates impressively smooth shifting even while under load. The Yeti SB150 also gets a GRIP2 equipped Fox fork and the new downhill-ready Fox Float X. The GRIP2 damper found in the shock is fully customizable and allows for precise tuning before a big day at any kind of bike park.
Equipped out of the box with a dropper, wide bars, and 4-piston hydraulic brakes the Yeti SB150 means business. We’re finding ourselves relishing in the newfound speed and singing up for enduro races left and right. Maxxis rubber takes on rolling duties with a hyper-aggressive Assegai in the front and fast-rolling DHRII in the rear. Both tires come tubeless-ready and equipped with EXO+ casing to shed off sharp rocks and big mountain hits. The SB150 is a speed-loving machine that knows how to get down the mountain when the time counts.
